About

We help people understand science, technology, health, finance, business, and policy.

Whether you need professional writing and editing services in science or medicine, a persuasive white paper about your latest venture, social media content, digital marketing services, political communications, or strategic messaging and communications, we can help.

We are a team of versatile experts!

Founder Sheeva Azma works alongside a small, multitalented team of experts (we’ve published three books together!) to apply our collective and unique skillset to tackle challenges of all kinds.

Serving the science, health, technology, finance, business, and policy sectors, we are both skilled communicators and problem-solving innovators. Think of us as a science and technology think tank coupled with a boutique communications firm. We’ve got FREE resources for science communicators and policy experts in training, too.

Fancy Comma combines broad content knowledge across a large swath of highly technical fields with tried-and-true communications strategies and messaging expertise. Merging expertise in marketing and science communication, we bring clarity and impact to content, messaging, and communications strategy for complex subjects.

Our team, led by Sheeva Azma, has over 20 cumulative years of academic research experience in both the sciences and social sciences, and over a decade of cumulative freelance writing, editing, and strategic communications experience. Sheeva also trains scientists in effective science communication.

Some of our specific subject matter expertise areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Biomedical science and biotech, especially neuroscience
  • Financial technology (FinTech)
  • Supply chain issues
  • Science communication (SciComm)
  • Medical and health communications (MedComms), both patient-facing and healthcare industry-facing
  • Legislative research and analysis: for example, writing a brief about the impacts of a new law being considered by Congress
  • Conducting in-depth research in health, business, finance, technology, and/or policy to drive business decision-making
  • Issues related to small business and entrepreneurship
  • Journalism writing. Check out a Fancy Comma-produced journalism publication in The Xylom, “Tennis for More than Two,” about the history of video games and diversity in game development.

We’d love to talk to you about your next project. Learn more about our team or contact us here.
